The Govt. Degree College, Srungavarapukota started functioning from the academic year 1984-85 with BA,B.Com and B.Sc courses. It is the only one degree college run by Govt of AndhraPradesh in Vizianagaram Dist. in those days.The Department of Chemistry was established in 2001 along with other science facilities. There are two combinations with chemistry. MPC and CBZ with a strength of 40 and 40 respectively. Practical Training classes in chemistry were introduced from the year 2001. Now the present strength is increasing day by day. So the Govt of AP, increased the seats and converted all groups to English medium.
