Welcome to Government Degree College, Srungavarapu Kota. Our institution is located at the footsteps of a very popular Pilgrim Center called Punyagiri Temple Hill which is known as poor man's Kasi of North Andhra Pradesh. The College is naturally endowed with lush green, serene and pleasant setting which creates a peaceful ambience for studies resembling a localized Shanti Niketan of Ravindranath Tagore. The College caters to the Educational needs of students of socially and economically backward sections of the society who are deprived of opportunities of Higher Education. The College also   contributes to inculcate awareness among the local people who are poor and illiterate for their social economic and cultural elevation.

Education is the manifestation of love and my most cherished possession. Education drives away ignorance and through illumination, it emboldens the students to a righteous thought and action and empowers them to enlarge the horizon of their minds. It energizes a society and enables a man to earn his living with respect and praise. In order to accomplish our vision and mission, we are prepared to take as much effort as possible for the betterment of academic scenario in India. We believe that education is an effective medium of social transformation. We get encouragement, looking at bright and successful careers of our thousands of students, which subsequently benefit the society. We feel proud that we are part of such an excellent institute, which is shaping modern India. Our college is endowed with progressive futuristic outlook which aims continual growth in the quality of all academic activities with a sense of commitment to fully meet the expectations of the students, parents and society at large.

Our college cares for the individual development of each and every student. We follow “mentor system” under which each class is put into the multi-pronged web of a teacher. We accord prime importance to the behavioral discipline, moral integrity and cognitive developments of our students. Departments of Arts, Sciences, Commerce and Languages, NSS, NCC, Physical Education, Library, Jawahar Knowledge Centre, Career Guidance Cell, Red Cross Society, Red Ribbon Club and Women Empowerment Cell offer integrated services for the multi –facetted developments of our students. Our teachers strive to teach not only academics but also life skills needed for students’ all round development.
